Welcome Winter Wreath

MATERIALS:

  • Floracraft styrofoam wreath, 16 inch

  • Scrapbook paper or card stock
  • Wired tinsel ribbon
  • Wide white ribbon
  • Rhinestones
  • Small silver beads
  • Craft glue or hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Old paintbrush (optional)

STEPS:

  1. Cover styrofoam wreath in glue (using an old paintbrush or your finger) and Cello Ice glitter, doing a section at a time. Let dry.
  2. Cover three 2-inch styrofoam balls and three 1.5-inch styrofoam balls in glue and Iridescent glitter, let dry.
  3. Insert piece of floral wire into larger balls, put glue on top of ball, add smaller ball to top to form snowman, leaving one inch length of wire sticking out of bottom of snowman’s body to insert later into wreath.
  4. Use tiny silver beads to glue on head for snowman’s eyes and mouth.
  5. Bend a one-inch piece of sparkle silver chenille pipe cleaner in half, insert two ends into face for snowman’s nose.
  6. Use pattern to make snowman’s hat: cut cone or top hat pieces from scrapbook paper or cardstock, glue together. (Add glitter to hat with glue, or use glittered paper.)
  7. For cone hat, glue piece of tinsel ribbon around base and tiny pom-pom to top.
  8. For top hat, glue piece of ribbon around base for trim.
  9. For white marshmallow hat, cover marshmallow with glue and Sugar glitter, glue felt snowflake to bottom of hat. Glue on piece of ribbon for hat band.
  10. Glue hat to each snowman’s head.
  11. Make arms for center snowman with two-inch pieces of silver chenille pipe cleaner, insert into body.
  12. Wrap piece of wired tinsel ribbon around snowman’s neck and bend to resemble a scarf.
  13. Add rings of glue and Iridescent glitter around bottle brush trees for snow, let dry.
  14. Insert snowmen into center of wreath with wire, putting small tree into center snowman’s arms.
  15. Glue trees onto wreath.
  16. Insert pieces of silver branches into center of wreath.
  17. Glue hat to each snowman’s head.
  18. Glue section of white pom-pom garland across front of snowmen on wreath. Add glue and Sugar or Iridescent glitter.
  19. Make “Welcome Winter” banner by printing words out, cut into strip, glue onto angled piece of glittered card stock or scrapbook paper. (May need to use two pieces of scrapbook paper, taped together to get desired length.)
  20. Glue snowflake sequins to banner.
  21. Glue banner across top of wreath.
  22. Make hanger and large bow for top of wreath with white ribbon.
