Witch Hat Centerpiece

A fun and not-so-scary Halloween centerpiece, with a neutral color scheme.

Materials:

  • Advantus/Sulyn Glitter Liners: Silver/Black/Opal (SUL50857 UPC 717968508577)
  • Paper mache cone
  • Bronze spray paint
  • Wide wired burlap ribbon
  • Striped burlap ribbon
  • Wide black polka dot ribbon
  • Wide sheer silver ribbon
  • Silk flower mini pumpkins(2), gourds
  • Seasonal silk flower stems
  • Curly silver stems
  • Craft brush
  • Paper plate
  • Nickel (to use as circle template)
  • Pencil
  • Craft glue
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors

Steps:

  1. Spray paint cone with bronze paint, let dry.
  2. Using pencil, trace nickle on cone in several places to form dots, as shown in photo.
  3. Using craft brush, carefully fill in each dot with glue, sprinkle with Sterling glitter, let dry.
  4. Outline each silver polka dot with black glitter liner, let dry.
  5. Paint glue onto mini pumpkins, sprinkle one with Crystal Diamond glitter, one with Sterling glitter, let dry.
  6. Paint glue onto gourds and berries, sprinkle with 24 Karat glitter, let dry.
  7. Glue strip of striped burlap ribbon around base of cone as shown.
  8. Glue cone to center of paper plate.
  9. Glue wide wired burlap ribbon to outer edge of paper plate,pinching inner edge of ribbon while gluing, to form pleats.
  10. Glue layer of silver ribbon above burlap ribbon in the same manner, overlapping inner edge of burlap, as shown.
  11. Glue layer of black dotted ribbon above silver ribbon, as in previous step.
  12. Glue cone to center of paper plate.
  13. Glue leaves, stems, berries, pumpkins and gourds to hat as shown.
